No Cavities
The Hottie took Brady and Lily to the dentist for their bi-annual checkup. He'd never been there before now. The results....
NOOOOOO CAVITIES!!
The Hottie says Dr. Quackenbush is hilarious. And, not just his name. The visit went down like this:
7:15am - Appointment time
7:19am - Arrival (oops, they were late)
7:23am - Brady and Lily were called back for their cleaning. Bryan walked them back and waited.
7:23am - 7:55am - Brady and Lily were brushed and flossed and cleaned and fluorided (yes that's a word)
7:55am - Dr. Quackenbush gives the good news to Brady - NO cavities!
7:56am - Dr. Quackenbush tells Lily that she has beautiful teeth and no cavities. Then, Brady says...."Really? Cuz she never brushes her teeth!" Dr. Quackenbush and the Hottie laugh.
8:00am - the Hottie swings through Dunkin Donuts
Yep...dentist followed by a donut. That's how we roll.

Fruit Punch
Saturday night we had date night. Well...really we hung out with some friends for drinks, food, and laughs. And...probably me talking waaaay too much. But, oh well! My parents took the cuties home from a family birthday party. To make it easier, they drove the van - and we drove my mom's car.
First - I was so embarrassed because our van = filthy. Their car = newly washed. My dad even wrote a little note to us on the windshield...WASH ME.
Second - I'm not sure...but, I think my mom is trying to create a Fruit Punch air freshener. Check this out.
And...the air fresheners didn't stop there - a second strawberry one hung just below.

Rock, Paper, Scissors
Do you ever play Rock, Paper, Scissors???
Apparently...Brady just learned about the game at school. He tried to teach Lil. This is what we heard..........
Brady: 1-2-3
SILENCE
Brady: What's that?
Lily: A bouncy ball.
SILENCE
Lily: A bouncy ball wins.
Brady: Stunned Silence (and that my friends is totally NOT normal)
Oh, Lilbugs...I guess she made up her own rule.
Too funny!

Funny Now - But, Not So Funny At The Time

It's a Diamondbacks week.
This means it's a lot of "me & the Cuties" time.
Last night, we (me & the Cuties) got home late.
We stopped for "dinner-during-the-drive"
vs. waiting until we got home after 7 to eat.
The Cuties love dinner like that.
So not healthy.
It still makes them happy.
When we got home,
to the bath they went.
Scrub, scrub, scrub...
Splash, splash, splash...
Clean, clean, clean...
After baths, I took the Cuties
into Lily's room to dress for bed.
As I was helping Brady with jammies...
Lily shuts the door.
She heads on over ready for her jammies.
Brady laughs.
No big deal, right?
WRONG!
Lily had locked the door PRIOR
to shutting the door.
Again, no big deal, right?
WRONG!
I am a bad mommy.
We turn the locks around.
Not to lock them in at night.
But, rather at nap time...
when they are learning to sleep in big kid beds.
And, I'm lazy...
We have yet to switch the handles back around.
So...we (me & the Cuties) are locked in Lil's room.
No key to get out.
No cell.
No house phone.
No milk for Lily.
No teeth brushing before bed.
No way out.
(I tried the window. We have screens and sunshades...
I would have to break the screen and/or sunshade
to escape.)
No daddy to rescue us.
Me = VERY mad.
Brady = laughing.
Lily = crying for milk.
Me = Yelling.
The Cuties = whining for ice cream
(I had promised earlier)
I knew I had to calm down and relax...
we were stuck.
So, we read books.
We cuddled on the bed.
We fell asleep.
3 hours later...
The Hottie lets me out.
I guess this was my punishment for turning the locks around.
But, hey - it works.
Too well.

What are Band Aids Really??
I get the biggest kick out of kids when they get an owie.
That didn't sound too good, did it?
This is what I mean. Brady cut his toe during a scooter adventure at Aunt Ashley's house. No worries, it's all good. It was bleeding and he was crying. Ashley coddled him, cleaned it, and bandaged up his toe. Brady quickly forgot about it while playing with the rest of the crew. A little while later as he is laughing hysterically with Rylee - Ashley catches his eye. Brady realizes he is no longer showing any sign of pain. Almost like it no longer existed.
Guess what he did.
Turned his head, looked down and sighed,
"OWWwwwwww."
When I arrived at the Babcock residence, Brady and Lily excitedly met me at the door. Wait- so did Jake. But, he was crying as he didn't want the cuties to leave just yet. As I was collecting their things, Ashley tells me about Brady's owie.
Guess what he did next.
Turned his head, looked down and sighed,
"OWWwwwwww."
Then, he limped around and begged me to carry him to the car. He had suddenly become disabled. I guess it was a delayed reaction.
Needless to say - I carried him to the car. I figure, I'm not going to be able to do that much longer. The kids is almost my size....well, at least in height.
When we made our way home, I carried him into the house where he jumped and played all over.
Funny how that works out, right?
The cuties jumped in the bath and quickly dressed in their comfy clothes. I re-bandaged the toe with a Spiderman band aid. But, of course...only after a 10 minute decision on just which band aid was privvy to this very injury.
The best part of it all is this...Lily suddenly now has an "injury," too. It's like band aids are contagious. She cries out for "biderman" and together the cuties pick out a just right finger decor for Lil. That's all I can really call the band aid in this case, for it is not truly doing anything other than decorating. Lucky for Brady, she picked Sesame Street vs. "biderman." Lil then walks around for the rest of the night as if her arm is in a sling and she cannot move it.
Band aids = Bandages AND Accessories.
Who would have thought?

Who Protects Who?
Or... is it Whom?
Anyways...ever since I was little, I always wanted a boy child first. I'm not sure why. Maybe it has to do with the protection an older brother could give...or maybe it's the cute friends possibility. Regardless, I always wanted a boy first.
While I was newly pregnant with Brady...we thought for sure it was a girl. I was wrong - and I had the first part of my childhood dream: A boy child first.
While pregnant with Lily...we thought for sure it was another boy. I was wrong again. Now I my complete childhood dream. Boy first, followed by a girl.
Wow - I was lucky!!
Protection? Brady does seem pretty protective...most of the time. As long as Lily is not stealing his toys. But today...it was Lily who protected Brady. Here's how it all went down.
Here's the rest:
Brady: 123456789, 10...Here I come. Mommy? Where aaaaaarrrrrre you?
Lily: Chuckling
Me: More panting
Brady: Mommy?
Brady runs down the hall, I can see him peek in the bathroom.
Brady: Nope. Not in the bathrooom.
Brady runs back down the hall.
Lily: Again, laughing standing at the bathroom...because she watched me run in there.
Brady: Mooooommmmmy?
Me: Brady & Lily...I'm in heeeeeeere!!
Brady runs back down the hall.
Brady: Mommy? Where are you?
Me: Silent
Lily: Still standing at the bathroom door.
Brady: Mommy...are you in the tub? Say Yes or No?
Me: Silently chuckling.
Lily: Chuckling loudly.
Brady: Lily...go look behind the curtain - see if Mommy's in the tub.
Lily walks to the curtain and pulls it back.
Me: Boo
All: Laughter..Screaming...Excitment
So...this leaves me with 2 questions:
1) Who will protect who?
and
2) Can it get any better than this?

It's 5pm and we're waiting for Daddy to get home. The kids are getting restless...can you blame them? So was I!! Well...I thought - let's play a good ole game of Hide-N-Seek. The next 40 minutes were full of screams. laughter. more screams. more laughter. And, of course...lots and lots of counting.
The last round - my turn to hide. I hide in the hall bathroom tub, behind the curtain. Did I mention, I'm a really good hider? Well...I guess anybody is against a 2 and an (almost) 5 year-old. Oh...and...I had to literally book it like I've never run before because Lily is chasing me the second I leave the room...so of course I'm panting...quietly.
