Pinkalicious Party

Lily loves Pinkalicious. Really, she loves anything pink. ANYTHING! So, for her 4th birthday I planned a girls-only Pinkalicious party. We invited her closest "little girl" cousins and friends and created a pinkalicious paradise.

The invites. I found some online and was able to create some similar. I printed them off as a 5x7 photo at Costco and ta-daaaaaa!!! Cheapy, but super cute invites for less than $5. I did have to buy a pack of 12 envelopes...but, I found them at Hobby Lobby for $2.99. And, in what else...PINK!

The game. Pin the cherry on the cupcake. I made it. I even made cute little red cherries for the girls to use. Everyone was a winner and got Pinkalicious books that I wrapped with a pink ribbon and added one of the party thank you tags. I don't have any pictures of the girls actually playing the game. But, check out my sister's blog - she has a few!!

The craft. We really had two: foam tiaras and cupcake decorating. The girls loved it. Well, at least they seemed to. I'm still finding stickers around the house!! We had several tiaras left over ready to be created...so we donated them to our sitter. Gotta love Oriental trading!

The favors. When the girls arrived at the Pinkalicious Party, we had gold wands for them to carry around and Pinkalicious bottle cap necklaces. The gold wands were such a great deal through Oriental trading...I just jazzed them up with some pink tulle and they were done. The bottle cap Stellar Trends Digital on Etsy of several 1 inch Pinkalicious designs for $1.99, printed them out at Kinkos and put them together. Such a cute favor. Brady even gave one to his friend at school! I also found some paperback Pinkalicious books at Walmart (and Amazon) for a smoking deal. We added those as the game prize as a great take away item. Lastly...we had lots of pink candy and treats to take home...cupcakes, pink giant pixie sticks (Party City), princess lollipops (Oriental Trading), marshmallow pops (homemade), pink bubblegum (Target), and even some cupcake lip gloss (Dollar Tree).

The girls. The girls were all decked out in pink. The donned their tiaras and ran around with their wands. So girlie - loved it!

We tried and tried for a picture of all the girls...this is the best we could get.
The party.

I love this picture. The girls decorated Brady's baseball net with balloons and tulle. What a fun, pink surprise for Brady!!

The party was definitely a success. A PINK success.

Short

Today I took Charlie to the doctor for a well visit. I think they used to call them check-ups. I guess that term is old school. Now...they're called well visits. As opposed to sick visits. They even have separate entrances for sick visits. And, separate waiting rooms. And, separate check-outs. And...for the REALLY contagious...an entirely separate area with a buzzer entrance. So much different than when I was a kid.

Anyway...I digress.

So, I took her to the doctor. It was her 6 month well visit. She's 7.5 months old. We're way behind. I guess that is what happens on the third baby. You see with Brady I counted down the days until his well visits. I couldn't wait to see his progress. With Lily...well, she was ALWAYS at the doctor, so I always knew her progress. And, now Charlotte. Sheesh. I forgot about her 2 month visit and so now...well, we'll be indefinitely behind. Oh well.

At the doctor, she put on a show. Babbling and flirting and laughing. They love her. They take her temp, pulse, listen to her lungs, check her over, get her weight and length and ask about her progress. We finish the trip with 4 shots. Here's her stats:

Weight - 17 pounds 4 ounces (25-50%)
Height - 25.75 inches (10-25%)
Head circumference - 45cm (75-90%)

After we get the percentages, I laugh. We love our chubbers, I say. Dr. Ciminello comments on how she definitely loves her food. Then I say, Awww...and look, she's my little shorty.

Then Dr. Ciminello laughs and says, Well...some things she can't control. You know...genetics. How tall are you now? 5' 1??"

I laugh and say...No like 5'3." He laughs and just about makes me get on the kids scale to measure me.

He says his goodbye and leaves. As we wait for the nurse to come in and administer the immunizations, I start talking to Charlotte. I tell her, Dr. Ciminello called momma out on her height. He then opens the door, laughs and says - No disrespect. We laugh.
Sheesh - but, I am short. And...so is Charlie.

The good news is this - Dr. Ciminello says that with the Hottie's height of 6 feet, she maybe has a shot at 5'4" and even 5'6"...but, only if I'm really 5'3."

2 Teeth

Bad Mommy.
Charlotte has a baby book.
I've never written in it.
That's not entirely true.
I wrote her name.
Bad Mommy.
On 12/27/10 her first tooth cut through.
It was rough on her.
I forgot to post the big news on the blog.
Or, in her baby book.
And then yesterday...
She got another tooth.
Bad Mommy.
I'm way behind.
Maybe one day...
I'll print out a copy of my blog for each Cutie.
That's kind of like a baby book...right?
(so, i just realized you can barely...barely see the teeth in this photo. Just pretend you see two bottom teeth. Her right lower one came in first. Pretend.)

A Letter To Our 4 Year Old

Lilbugs,

Today is your 4th birthday!! We began your birthday by nursing your ear infection in the wee hours of your 4th birthday. You were in misery. You cried for the doctor and medicine. I stayed up with you throughout the night giving you a heat pad for your ear, treatments for your declining breathing, and at last Tylenol that made you finally sleep. You woke up at 7:30am, ran into Charlotte's room where I was dressing her and screamed..."It's my birthday. I'm 4!!" You would never have known that we stayed up almost the entire night. At the doctor's they confirmed an ear infection and ordered a prescription. Thank goodness.

We made it Organ Stop Pizza for just a small celebration with the 5 of us. You loved it. You opened a couple little presents from us (lip gloss with a case and necklaces), ate pizza, ice cream, and ran around like the 4 year old that you are.

Birthdays with you are always so fun. You get the biggest kick out of everything. The smallest things to you mean so much. You've never really had a gigantic party, yet - you would never know. Our dinner tonight with just the 5 us was the most fun EVER in your eyes. I love that about you. So easy to please - I always feel like I'm doing my job as your mom. Just wait until Saturday for your PINK party.

We've now been blessed with you for 4 years. It's funny to think that just four years ago I was lying in the hospital bed just having birthed you. You were by far my easiest labor and delivery. BY FAR! Kind of ironic considering you are now the biggest drama queen ever. With all your drama comes even more strength, beauty, silliness, and happiness.

This is how we would describe you at 4 years old:

1. You are just about the girliest, girl you will find.
2. You LOVE dresses and pretty much have tantrums when you have to wear pants/shorts.
3. You are obsessed (literally) with Taylor Swift. You even love to have me curl your hair, AKA give you Taylor Swift hair.
4. You are all about the color pink. Tonight you even chose strawberry ice cream because it was pink.
5. You love your babies. You've got lots of baby dolls and each one is special to you. You dress them, feed them, carry them around, and change them.
6. You are seriously the clumsiest kid known to man. You trip over your own feet. ALL. THE. TIME.
7. You can't breathe...but, it doesn't stop you from playing rough with the boys.
8. You cheat at Candyland. And, its obvious. It's almost like you think cheating is part of the game.
9. You steal your sister's clothes for your dolls. It's making you mad that Charlotte is getting big and the clothes are no longer fitting your babies. But, you still try.
10. You talk to your dolls. I mean, you have actual conversations with them.
11. You love to sing. L-O-V-E, LOVE to sing.
12. You can scream like no other. When you're mad...you let us know. There's no holding back.
13. You already slam your door when you're angry. We're getting frightened for the teen years.
14. You have such a gentle side and you always tell us how much you love us.
15. Your favorite food - hands down - is macaroni and cheese. Pizza is a close second.
16. You think that McDonald's Restaurant is actually called "Old McDonald's" after the song.
17. You love going to Costco and eating hot dogs in the little food court. But...only if we get to sit under one of the tables with an umbrella. You pretend it's raining the entire time.
18. You love anything with bling. And, really...the more obnoxious it is, the better.
19. You love the show Toddlers and Tiaras. I'm not sure why we ever let you watch it.
20. You love M&M's and candy canes and really...any type of candy. You ask for it the second you wake up.

I can't believe you are 4. Time is flying. I wish it would slow down. You have become such a funny, happy-spirited, loving, beautiful little girl. We love you so much. Brady loves you so much. Charlie loves you so much.

Happy Birthday Buggies!

Love,
Mommy

Camping

The kids have been camping for the last few nights...
in the LIVING ROOM!

While cleaning out the garage this weekend, Bryan found a tent that Brady was gifted awhile back and set it up for the kids to play. Well...they've been loving "camping."

Yes, I know it's a school night.
But...it's making them so happy.
We can't help it!

Definitely comfort camping!

My New Camera

I love it.
The Hottie spoiled me.
Really spoiled me.
Now...I just have to take lessons.
So many buttons.
So many possibilities.
So much confusion!
My first photo shoot....

Sheesh...do I need lessons!
