Delicious Dessert

Not your typical dessert.

But, certainly delicious.

Awhile back, I was browsing this blog.

She posted a recipe for popcorn.

Tonight...we gave it a whirl.

Sooooooooooooooooooo delicious!

And...super easy and quick!

Ingredients:

1/2 cup light brown sugar

1/2 cup light corn syrup

1/2 cup peanut butter

1 bag of popcorn

(the recipe I had actually called for 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kennels...but, since I like the more quick and easy option...it was the Fry's brand Natural microwaveable bag for us)

Stick bag of popcorn in microwave and press the Popcorn button. Put popped popcorn in a large bowl. In a medium pot, combine brown sugar and corn syrup over medium heat. Constantly stir until sugar is dissolved and mixture is a little bubbly. Then, add the peanut butter. Stir until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly over the popcorn. Let cool for 2-3 minutes. Enjoy!!

I will say the peanut mixture seemed a little thick so I would pour a little, stir popcorn, heat the mixture for a second, pour a little more, stir popcorn, etc.

Yummy! Lil couldn't stop eating the treat.

Margaritas.....mmmmmm!

Early in my pregnancy we went to Olive Garden.

Yum.

I passed by someone that had a margarita...and the craving began.

I have wanted a margarita for the last 7 months.

So....Happy Cinco de Mayo!!!

In honor of Cinco de Mayo...

Everyone have a margarita for me!!!

Soon I'll be able to enjoy one, too.

Valentine's Dinner

We're not big into Valentine's.

We never have been.

I can't remember really ever going all out.

It's fine with us.

Today - we celebrated Valentine's at the zoo.

Just the 4 of us.

It was SUPER busy.

Lil was feeling better,

but she was still a little cranky.

On the way home, we stopped by Fry's and picked up

ingredients for dinner.

I made ziti.

The hottie loves it.

Me too.

To be honest, I'm not the best chef.

Well...I just don't have a big menu.

But, my ziti is delicious.

Not fancy, but delicious.

I made a crock pot cake and we found out that

it is very, very, very rich.

Too rich.

But...beforehand, we made homemade whipped cream.

Actually, Brady did.

Grandpa and Rie would be SO proud!

Damn Leotards...and I'm Fired.

Saturday night at the campbellcutie household brought us lots of family time. First, it was spent garage sale-ing at the Babcocks...cleaning...laundry...and then, finally campbell cutie family time. The kids were itching to get out...so out we went.

We surprised them and took a ride to Yogurt Jungle. Might sound like no big deal to you - but, to them...you'd of thought we surprised them with a trip to the zoo. They loved it. All the flavors. All the gazillions of toppings. Yogurt at it's finest. And...pretty cheap, too!!

I was able to snap a picture of the cuties sitting at their table eating their yogurt. Mmmmm....delicious!!!

p.s. yes, I know - if this was a job...I'd be fired. I've certainly not meeting 30 in 30 expectations!

Uncle Bryan Style

That's okay - we entered the house to the smell of cupcakes baking. The kids dried off, hurried into their jammies and patiently (or maybe not so patiently) waited for them to cool off enough to eat.

Ketchup

I come from a family of ketchup lovers. Well, really we all start out that way - then some of us (not me) veer off a bit as we age.

We all actually talked about our ketchup craziness at the folks' house last night for Sunday night dinner. You see, I eat ketchup with chicken nuggets and grilled cheese. I know - sounds gross doesn't it?? My sister Ashley eats ketchup with noodles. Lily will dip anything in ketchup. Brady...well, can't stand it. Apparently, he didn't get the ketchup gene.

On the other hand, he doesn't like any condiment - N-O-N-E. Other than ketchup...I'm right there with him. I'll eat ranch or italian on salads...but, that's about it. No ranch on pizza, no mayo on sandwiches, no mustard on hot dogs. Y-U-C-K, YUCK!!

This weekend we went out to dinner with our very good friends the Truran's. We just love them...and their adorable daughter Avery...and even their yet-to-be-named, bun-in-the-oven, little girl #2. Avery brought the meaning "ketchup lover" to a new height.

She basically said forget the fries - I just need a ramekin of ketchup. She was literally drinking it. Too cute and funny.

Eww Eww Itchy-Itch Eeeeeeek!!!!

So, I had a different post prepared for tonight. I was sitting at my computer finishing it up - when I heard....

OH MY GOD!!! DAWN!!! COME HERE NOW!!!

Something in Bryan's voice told me it did not have to do with the kids...so I wasn't that worried.

Then - I saw this:

Ewwwwww!!! Yuck!!! EEEEEEEEEEK!!!

Yes I'm a native to Arizona. But...NO - I have never in my life had a scorpion in my home.

Needless to say I was freaking out. So was the hottie. So was Brady. Lily...well, she could have cared less.

Bryan killed the little bugger (hee hee) and sanitized the tile - ick!

Then...we brainstormed on how it entered our home and where it came from. This is what we came up with: 1) the bulldozer that is about 50 yards from our house digging up in our neighborhood, 2) the mattress that we just got for Lily - it was (covered) in our friends' garage for awhile 3) the cardboard box from Ikea that had Lil's bed in it and 4) the gardening we did over the weekend.

We began to clean - obsessively. p.s our house is already clean. We tore apart closets - vacuumed all carpets, vacuumed even the mattresses. Finally, while Bryan went out to the garage to do a quick clean-up - I made a little treat as a thank you to Bryan for taking care of the icky tresspasser.

Thanks to my favorite foody site Rookie Cookie - I found this recipe for Chocolate Caramel Cookies. Mmmm....Yummers. They were absolutely delicious!

p.s. the exterminator will be coming tomorrow...and I feel itchy...but, my house is really clean!

DD

Everyone knows that Bryan loooooooves Dunkin Donuts. These tiny little donuts heavens seem to be popping up around the valley...and Bryan could not be more excited.

2 nights ago, Bryan made a quick stop with Brady at Home Depot for me. I needed him to pick up something for my "craft Christmas phase." (Because apparently I decided to make a couple of gifts for Christmas...I love homemade gifts...but, I have only this year decided to partake.)

Bryan and Brady came home with excitement in their eyes. A Dunkin Donuts just opened right next to Home Depot - woo hoo!! - they were excited.

This morning at 9:30am - this is what our house looked like as the boys "ran" to DD for some munchkins...

And...yes, she's wearing shoes...and yes, the sheets are off for cleaning...and yes, there's a pile of cars STILL waiting to be picked up.

Perspective of a 4 AND A HALF year old

So....I had an idea of another blog - but that totally backfired on me. I was having Brady take some pictures of me in my comfy clothes - who would have thought I looked that bad. I absolutely refused to put them on my blog.

But - the good news is - I have a better blog! I was looking through all of the pictures and I was laughing at the things Brady was taking pictures of - too cute. Here is life according to a 4 AND A HALF year old - he would be mad if I didn't emphasize the HALF.
