Friendly Face Interview

Bradley Douglas Truran
AKA - Big Brad

Brad is Bryan's BFF. Not just BFF, but pretty much family. They've known each other since they were kids and have remained friends ever since. The Truran's are great friends...ones we seriously think of as family. I've known Brad exactly as long as I've known Bryan. We, too, were instant friends. Brad has been our friend, roommate, best man, happy hour partner...and co-worker. Brad has 2 jobs...both of them with Bryan - how much funnier can it get? They are true friends and we love him!

Born: 5/11/77, Sterling Heights, Michigan

Siblings: I'm the oldest of 5 boys: Nick - 27, Joe - 23, Buddy - 16, Danny - 12. (and Brad is the daddy of 1, soon-to-be 2 girls)

Resides: Gilbert, AZ

Married: To the love of my life, Cassie Irene

Kids: The next best thing to ever happen to me, my amazing daughter Avery Lee.

Marriage Advice: Laugh a lot, have fun with each other. It's so amazing to be able to "do life" with someone who you have such a good time with.

Work: Sales Manager, Direct Alliance Corporation - 9 years...(and AZ Diamondbacks [seasonal] with Bryan)

Dream Job: I would absolutely love to be a professional athlete, more specifically a football player in the NFL. Let's map this out. Max 4-5 months a year on the job, remaining 7-8 months, mine to enjoy. Play once a week, work in some practices, 3-4 other days for 4-5 hours at a time, rest of time is mine to enjoy. Let's not forget the nice chunk of change that I would be able to use to provide for my family and enjoy. That's the dream job for me!

Favorite Color: Navy blue - love it - don't know why.

Favorite Sports Team: This one is tough and I'm not prepared to make the call here one way or another. Diamondbacks and Suns, 100% dialed into these two team.

Hobbies: I love staying active with extracurriculars, softball, flag football, basketball, working out at the gym. A close second, but #1 in the "nerd alert" category shamelessly is fantasy sports: football, baseball, basketball, and yes...hockey.

Who is your Hero?: My wife is my hero. We've been through a lot as a couple and there's a lot of crap that she dealt with me early on in our relationship, and the grace, love, patience and confidence that she's given me over the years is something that I'll forever be in debt to her for. She's an amazing mom and I just truly admire her for the person that she is and for the person that she continues to evolve into.

What Makes you Laugh?: Will Ferrell, my daughter, Bryan Campbell's comprehension of the English language, The Office, SNL, Dane Cook, my employees calling in sick with lame excuses, Mitch Hedberg, any movie with Vince Vaughn and/or Owen Wilson.

Cry?: D-backs winning the World Series, not The Notebook, other unmentionables. Jim Valvano, a legendary college basketball coach who died of cancer, left the world with this quote that I love..."To me, there are three things that we should do every day. We should do this every day of our lives. Number one is laugh. You should laugh every day. Number two is think. You should spend some time in thought. And Number three is, you should have your emotions moved to tears, could be happiness or joy. But think about it. If you laugh, you think, and you cry, that's a full day. That's a heck of a day. You do that seven days a week, you're going to have something special."

Being a Dad has Taught Me: to value life and to value time with loved ones. It has forced me to be thankful for what I have and who I am and to "live in the now." Not to worry about what has happened in the past or what could happen in the future, focus on now and enjoy now.

Happiest Moment in Life: My wedding day. Such vivid memories that I'll always have of an amazing day and even better, that we had the funnest time at our wedding!

Favorite Thing about Yourself: This is tough, I'm not one to talk about myself. I would have to say my favorite thing about myself is how I interact with and treat people. I have a genuine belief in the good of people and I feel that I interact well with pretty much anyone.

Favorite Thing about Cassie: She's hot. She'll tell you, too.

Favorite Movie: Again, another tough one. Can't say that I can give just one, but let me spew a few here that would have to crack my top 10: Anchorman, Bull Durham, Good Will Hunting, Old School.

Theme Song: This is an interesting request/question. I'm going to take the liberty of morphing the question a bit and make it "what would your 'at bat' music be if you could have it played for you at Big League Dreams, or if you were a major league baseball player?" This is probably going to be a bit anti-climatic, but I would have to go with the song from the movie Visionquest called Lunatic Fringe by Red Rider. Random and obscure, but nonetheless, freaking awesome!

Where do you See Yourself in 10 Years?: Stable, providing career in something that I enjoy. I'll keep that a little vague. Dad of probably 3 kids, 2 girls and...well, probably a 3rd girl. Still living in Gilbert, in a nice house with a mortgage appropriate to my income. Isn't this always a pretty picture for everyone? Does anyone ever say anything like I think my life is going to be in shambles, I'll be on the brink of bankruptcy, fresh out of my 3rd stint of rehab for the coke habit I can't shake? Sometimes, I wonder what's going to happen next week, much less 10 years from now, but as long as I'm not resembling anything near that last example, life will be good.

Pet Peeves: People who don't say thank you when you hold or open the doors for them! Are you kidding me? You think that people just run around and open doors for you wherever you go, you think you're that special? UGH! Really drives me crazy. And one more, I really don't like the whole hands free, cell phone in the ear thing, and I think it's really rude! You basically telling everyone "I don't care who you are or what kind of cordial greeting you might want to offer me, I'm on a phone call that is way more important than you or your life. Not only that, you have to listen to my obnoxious conversation and deal with it." Stupid.

5 Things on your IPod: Deftones, Justin Timberlake, some old school rap, Chevelle, N.E.R.D.

3 Wishes: Money (lots of it), healthy family, and to be able to stay athletic well into my 50's, so I can be that old guy out on the softball field taking it to all the youngsters.

Describe yourself in 1 Word: Cool.
