Lilyisms - Lions

A recent conversation with Lily....

Mommy: Lily did you pick up your toys?
Lily: Uhhhhh...yep.
Mommy: Really...all of them?
Lily: Yeeeeeessssss.
Mommy: No you didn't. Your babies are still all over your room.
Lily: No they not.
Mommy: Lily, are you lying?
Lily: No. They. NOT!
Mommy: Lily - no lying. That is not nice.
Lily: I not a lyin.'
Mommy: Yes you are bugs. Lying means not telling the truth. You are lying.
Lily: NO I NOT. I NOT A LYIN'!!!
Mommy: Lily, this is not nice. Stop lying.
Lily: I not a lion. I Lily.
Mommy: (finally getting it) Oh...you're not a lion. And what does a lion say?
Lily: RRRROOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!!!!
Mommy: Lots and Lots of giggles.

Hmmmm.....miscommunication at it's finest.

Why I'm the Worst Wife Ever!

Monday was the Hottie's birthday.
The big 33.
He feels old.
I laugh.
But, I agree...we're sure getting up there.
This is how we celebrated:
Last weekend we relaxed.
No plans.
It was awesome.
Saturday night - we watched movies at my parent's.
It was completely spur of the moment.
It was relaxing.
It was perfect.
Sunday, we went to lunch for his birthday.
Applebee's.
Yes, we're fancy.
The Hottie played in 2 softball games that night.
The cuties and I made cupcakes.
We sang.
Monday was the big birthday.
The Hottie played wiffle ball at work.
Cake job, right?
He would say - definitely NOT.
He got off early.
I take him to lunch.
His choice.
Macayo's on Ash it is.
He drops me back off at work and goes home.
He picks up the cuties.
I get out early with plans to make dinner.
At 6 - we look at a rental house.
A Definite NO-GO!
He wants to go out to dinner.
His choice.
Grimaldi's at San Tan.
Mmmmmm.....
We go home.
Eat another cupcake.
Sing again.
The cuties and I smother him with kisses and hugs.
No presents.
Are presents really needed?
Yes, most definitely.
So....just why did I not get my booty to the store to purchase something?
I'm not sure.
I had all intentions to do so.
I just didn't.
I had 2 ideas of gifts.
Real presents - not the kind that I ask for.
You know, the - "what do we need???" kind of presents.
Brady decides he wants to take him golfing.
I say perfect.
So...Sunday, the Hottie and Brades will be heading out to the course.
And...last night, the Hottie and Brades went to a DBacks game.
Of course, those tickets were free.
I'm thinking I made out like a bandit.
And, I can't help but feel guilty.

Dear Hottie...

Please know that I really, really, really, really love you. By no means does the lack of presents to open mean that I love you any less or that you are not deserving. If we could afford it - you would get whatever you wanted. A baseball trip around the country. A new car. A San Diego beach house. Whatever you wanted. You are deserving of all of those things.

Hopefully, a nice relaxing weekend at home with us was at least somewhat a form of happiness in your eyes. Very soon you and Brady will be outnumbered by us girls - so at the very least, I am very happy that you are able to enjoy both a baseball game and a golf outing - BOYS ONLY - this week.

Happy Birthday Babe! I love you!

Nurse Gina

Brady's addicted.
Addicted to going to the nurse.
I'm pretty sure she has my cell on speed dial.
Or at least memorized.
We've just about told him...
unless his arm is falling off,
DO NOT
go to the nurse.
It's not working.
Brady = hypochondriac.
He totally gets that from the hottie.

Rock, Paper, Scissors

Do you ever play Rock, Paper, Scissors???

Apparently...Brady just learned about the game at school. He tried to teach Lil. This is what we heard..........

Brady: 1-2-3
SILENCE
Brady: What's that?
Lily: A bouncy ball.
SILENCE
Lily: A bouncy ball wins.
Brady: Stunned Silence (and that my friends is totally NOT normal)

Oh, Lilbugs...I guess she made up her own rule.
Too funny!

Lately...

I've been slacking on the blogging.
But, This is what we've been doing....
1. Watching the Yankees...Brady's little league team that is.
2. Eating red slushies in the AZ sun.
3. The Cuties and I are snugglin' at home while the Hottie is at the DBacks. Lots of DBacks.
4. Hiding Easter candy from the Cuties...still.
5. I was DD at a wine tasting GNO on Friday. Serious fun!
6. Forgetting our debit when we went to eat with the Babcocks...oops! I should mention that Bryan had used my debit at Fry's the night before and neglected to put it back :)
7. Thinking of packing...but, not actually doing anything about it.
8. Baby bedding searches on Google...but, not really taking the step to buy. I'm about to pop - you think that would be reason enough...but, I'm pretty lazy these days.
9. 2 nights of softball a week for the Hottie.
10. Dance class still for Lil - you should see her purple recital leotard....SO cute!
11. Sneaking around some vacant rental home backyards and peeking in the windows.
12. Getting ready to take our car sunshades out...it's sure getting up there.
13. Doors open - loving the breezes at night.
14. Spelling tests and homework for Brady...and mom :)
15. Lil's telling everyone the baby's name is Baby Sheldon...it's not.
16. Shooting hoops in the driveway after school.
17. Slumber party with Jake and Ry.
18. Playing dress-up...MORNING, NOON, & NIGHT.
19. Trying to make it to my due date. My goal...May 21st.
20. Enjoying our last few weeks of no diapers and night feedings.
21. Watching Jimmy Kimmel HMC. Thanks Brett...HILARIOUS!

You Know You're Big When....

Your grandmother asks you when you're due.
And you tell her, May 30th.
And, she says...
Are you sure you're not due till May?
You're really...big.

Yep...thanks Grandma :)

Coloring Eggs

I don't think we've ever colored eggs at our own house.
We always make it a family affair with all the kids at my parent's house.
I think we've learned.
We've got it down to a science.
Nothing fancy.
No glitter or tie-dye needed.
Just good ole' colored eggs.
Just the normal - blue, red, pink, green, orange, yellow...
Growing up...we always wanted the fancy eggs.
I don't know why.
They never turn out like the box.
And...with the glitter eggs...
UGH!! The glitter stayed on our table until we sold it.
My mom loved that.
This year turned into almost naked colored eggs.
No clothes = no stains!!
And, that...makes the mommy's VERY happy!

Easter Fun!!

Easter is one of my favorite holidays.
Probably because it's my mom's holiday.
You see...my mom and her sisters all get a holiday.
They plan and organize their own holiday.
And...we all show up and bring something to share.
Family, friends...really anyone is welcome.
No less than 60 people.
Lots of people. Lots of mingling. Lots of fun.
And, at Easter...lots of games.
The kids love it.
There are so many kids to play with.
And, of course they're all high on sugar.
This year, we ended the night with a couple games of poker.
Weird?
Nope - pretty normal over here.
I split with my parents.
Yippee!!
